Dr. Megan Chase is a psychic psychotherapist, the head of a demon clan and a hell of a good cook. Easing into her role as Gretneg to the Yezer Ha-Ra, leader of a clan of small demons who feed on human sorrow and despair, has taken a lot of adjustment. Less than a year ago she was essentially alone in the world, now she has friends, the responsibility of a large demon family, and a lover, Greyson Dante, Gretneg of the Fire Demons.
A high-level meeting of the local demon leaders is pending, a stray FBI agent is sniffing around, and an evangelic minister claiming to exorcize demons is setting up a prayer meeting just down the road from the convention of Gretnegs. Then someone attempts an assassination of Megan and all hell breaks loose. With the help of her best friend Tera (a witch of the paranormal policing force) Brian ( a staunch Catholic, reporter, and fellow psychic) and of course the three demon body guards Malleus, Malificarum and Spud, Megan and her fellow Gretnegs take things in hand. But at least one of the Gretnegs is plotting the demise of all the others, and until they find out who, it's not only Megan who is in danger.
Then Megan is faced with a choice only she can make, alone. She can no longer count on the protection of her friends but only on herself. The wrong choice could lose her everything she has come to value about her new life, especially Greyson.
The third of the Megan Chase novels, DEMON POSSESSED is as funny and fraught with mayhem as the previous two, but even more satisfying, tying up a few of the loose ends left in the previous two books, while leaving intriguing questions to be answered about some of the less prominent characters.
Psychologist and psychic Megan Chase has grown remarkably
comfortable hanging out with demons. The demon "family" she
leads is happy, her solo practice is stabilizing, and she
and her steamy demon lover, Greyson Dante, are closer than
ever. But when the couple books a week at a luxury hotel to
attend a meeting of demon leaders, some unanticipated
problems appear.
An FBI agent with an unhealthy interest in
less-than-legitimate demon business practices shows up; the
demon community is urging Megan to undergo the rite that
will make her a real demon; and a slightly shady
minister is holding one of his wildly popular "weekend
exorcisms" just down the road. And oh, yes, someone with
scary magical abilities is attempting to kill her.
Then, just when it seems as if things couldn't possibly get
any worse, a secret comes to light that could jeopardize
Megan and Greyson's future -- if Megan manages to live that
long. With things heating up, it's becoming difficult for
her to keep a cool head...
