Tommy Skyler turned away from a dream as an NFL quarterback
when his brother was killed in action. Now a Tennessee
firefighter, Tommy does a great job, yet still wonders what
his life would have been like if his brother hadn't died.
Tommy is in love with a nurse named Shea Ford. They have
dated, but Shea has distanced herself from Tommy. He knows
if she would just give him a chance, they would have a good
thing.
When one of Tommy's firefighter friends gets married to
Shea's friend, Tommy has the opportunity to show her what
she is missing. Between his attempts to woo her, their
station gets several heavy-duty fire calls. Tommy's boss,
who is struggling with alcoholism to forget the death of
his family, repeatedly sends Tommy into the fray to rescue
someone. Before Tommy is thrown into the wall of building,
he sees a bystander who seems out of place. On a future
call, Tommy recognizes that something is "off" before
someone hits him on the back of his head. He starts to
realize these building fires aren't accidents, but arson --
and people have died. His interests lean toward becoming an
investigator with the Fire Marshall's office.
Shea really likes Tommy, but he reminds her of something
from her past. It's not his fault, but Shea doesn't trust
herself. Still, when Tommy is brought into the emergency
room not once but twice, Shea realizes she can't stay away
from him. She needs to trust him and tell him what her
issues are.
But Shea might not get the opportunity as someone doesn't
like Tommy messing up his plan, and Shea is part of the
plan.
LINE OF FIRE is the story of two service-oriented people
who have more to give than they know. Shea and Tommy are
destined for each other, but it is the danger that truly
brings them together. Station #5 has some hunky men, and
this installment of the series is pretty satisfying.
To his fellow firemen, Tommy Skyler has it all. But the
golden boy of Station Five hides a private pain. He was
once a star quarterback until tragedy derailed his dream.
Since then, he's struggled with his choices - including his
decision to become a firefighter. His one ray of light
shines in beautiful nurse Shea Ford.
When a dangerous rescue lands Tommy in the ER, what better
opportunity to win her over? But when a conspiracy
culminates in deadly arson, Tommy realizes that a ruthless
enemy is closing in, threatening to destroy the couple's
love - and their lives.
