You don't want to send your child to Blue Lake Academy! Sinister things are happening there. Nestled in the mountains of Oregon, this school for wayward teens has more going on than the academic. Julia Farentino's sister, Shaylee, is being sent to the academy by her mother's choosing and an order of the judge. Shaylee is in trouble with the law and has been kicked out of three schools already.

Recently, a couple of unusual things have happened at the school. A teacher was fired for being involved with a student and another student is missing, gone without a trace. After doing quite a bit of research on the school, Julia is very suspicious of it and does not want Shaylee there.

Julia comes up with the idea of applying for a teaching position to investigate the school and get her sister out. Although Julia has a teaching degree, she is currently working as a waitress. She lands the teaching job and is on her way to spring Shaylee when she receives a phone call from the school that two students have recently been found murdered. Julia is even more determined now.

But another surprise awaits Julia when she arrives. She discovers that an old boyfriend is also teaching at the school. He is sent to pick her up when she arrives at the guard shack. As they talk on the way up the mountain, they find out that each is there with another purpose in mind. Cooper Trent is there, hired by the missing student's parents, to find out what happened to her.

Julia and Trent hook up to determine exactly what is going on at Blue Lake Academy. As they do, another student is found murdered and Trent's cottage is set on fire. Will they find out who killed the three students and what happened to the missing one? What else will they find here at Blue Lake Academy?
