Lyra Prescott's acquisition of some old rare books and DVDs from a garage sale is the beginning of the "run for her life." As a California film school student, Lyra is doing a documentary on Paraiso Park, now being used as a dump site, and her interest is spiked with the beautiful small garden in the middle. Now she and her roommate, Sidney Buchanan, are being pursued by dangerous men intent on killing them.
Front and center appears gorgeous FBI Agent Samuel Wellington assigned by Sidney's brother to protect the girls. Lyra's heart is set to racing and she's stunned by this sexy vision with a Scottish brogue who will be glued to her every move. With screeching tires and dodging bullets, the race of her life begins as Sam calls in all favors to keep her alive. Amid car bombs, arson and dead bodies, Lyra and Sam fall in love, both knowing when this is over Sam will walk away.
Julie Garwood's latest creation is superb. There's more action than the heart can take. The story line is most creative and takes you for a fast thrill ride throughout the book. The author has woven an imaginative and very striking story of the underworld of mob activity and intrigue. If this doesn't keep your heart racing and your blood boiling, nothing will. Another of her hard-to-put- down books. Highly recommended!
