Romance Suspense

Sophie Summerfield Rose, reporter for the Illinois Chronicle, is assigned a story on William Harrington, an egotistical runner who has won 20 5K races. William disappears into thin air while Sophie waits for him at the finish line. Sophie's problems escalate when a foot and part of a leg is found in Alaska with her business card tucked into the sock. She is now the hunted, believing her father, Bobby Rose, is at the bottom of her threats. Viewed as a modern-day Robin Hood, Bobby is always being sought by the FBI in questioning.

Sophie's good friend Regan is married to an FBI agent who sets off the hunt and chase for Sophie by assigning FBI Agent Jack MacAlister as her bodyguard. Jack and Sophie, both stubborn and headstrong individuals, clash with sarcasm while at the same time feeling a huge sexual attraction. From Chicago to Alaska, Jack pushes his abilities to the limit keeping Sophie alive as they strive to expose the sinister conspiracy in Alaska. Jack now has a bigger investment in Sophie.

FIRE AND ICE is fast-paced, riddled with excitement and thrills. The story is well-written with clearly defined characters and a thrilling plot. There are a number of characters to keep track of, but interesting all the way through.
