Lily Carlyle dies and is given a second chance to redeem
herself. She doesn't see where she has any other choice so
she accepts. The problem is she doesn't come back as Lily
any more. She takes over the body of Alice Perdue. Now she
has to figure out why and what is expected of her. She may
get the shock of her life!
All Lily wanted to do was take care of her younger sister,
Rose after she is brutally raped and beaten. So she goes
after the man who did it. What she doesn't plan on is
having that same man kill her as well. She just knew she
had killed him first so what happened?
Lily wasn't a good girl in her former life so why is she
given a second chance? Now Lily has to figure things out
but as Alice. Can she do it? She does have a helper, a
guardian angel so to speak. His name is Clarence and he
looks like a frog. What is up with that? He tells her she
is strong but she has to train in order to do what she is
chosen to do which is fight demons and close the gate
between worlds. Clarence also tells Lily she can't have
anything to do with her former life or with her sister.
Lily balks at this big time until Clarence tells her that
Rose is in danger if she does try to contact her.
This first book in the Blood Lily Chronicles not only
captured my attention but held it throughout the entire
book. There were twists and turns around every aspect of
this story that I couldn't even begin to imagine. I simply
cannot wait until the next book to see what is in store for
Lily/Alice.
Lily Carlyle has lied, cheated, and stolen her way through
life. But in death, she'll really get to be bad... When
her little sister is brutalized, a vengeful Lily
determines to exact her own justice. She succeeds at the
cost of her own life, but as she lies dying, she is given
a second chance. Lily can earn her way into Paradise by
becoming an assassin for the forces of good. It's the job
Lily believes she can really get into-but she doesn't
realize that she may not be able to get out.
