Elinor, her twin sister CJ, Poppy and Alice are four friends who have grown up together, and know each other's deepest, darkest secrets. Or at least they thought they did. When Elinor gathers her friends, plus her hairdresser Yvonne, together for an intimate chat, the others never would have guessed the bombshell that Elinor was about to drop on them. She was being blackmailed over her affair with a major political figure. After recovering from the shock, the friends band together to try and find out who is doing the blackmailing, and how they got the information to hold over Elinor's head.
As Elinor attempts to stay calm and continue preparing for her son's big-event wedding, her sister and friends set out to do a little sleuthing of their own. They never dreamed that they would be uncovering a myriad of secrets that should have been left well enough alone. CJ reflects on her secret of bearing her sister's child, and falling in love with her sister's husband in the process. Poppy finds out that her adoring husband isn't all that adoring, and she longs to find happiness of her own. And Alice is busy playing cat and mouse with gentlemen all over the country while escorting her granddaughter to talent show contests. Each one of them with a secret that could destroy friendships and relationships -- and Elinor thought she had problems!
In her novel, PERFECT LITTLE LADIES, author Abby Drake takes her readers on an inside journey into the lives of the wealthy and entitled -- where maybe privilege isn't all it's cracked up to be when the chips are down. I found this story to be so fascinating, I stayed up all night reading it. PERFECT LITTLE LADIES is a mature, hen-lit tale that leaves readers with a distinct impression of being treated to a very smart and well-written book.
