Maggie Donovan, human window painter, defeated Queen Mab,
Queen of the Fae, and so became Maggie, Queen of the Fae.
She is trying to adjust to her life as a Queen and be true
to her human life and family as well. She is wildly
attracted to her head Fae Warrior, Culhane, but remembers
that Mab said not to trust him as she was being thrown out
the window. Culhane, on the other hand, has been watching
Maggie since she was a small child and has been waiting on
her to grow and assume her destiny to become Queen, so he
could direct her rule to correct things he saw wrong with
the Otherworld where the Fae live. Maggie's niece Eileen
accidentally frees Mab from her imprisonment, and now
Maggie has to deal with her trust issues with Culhane,
decide on where she should live in the human world or
Otherworld, and defeat Mab a second time to protect her
family and the Fae she has come to care for.
This book was witty, fun and fast paced. Maggie is torn
between being a normal human, and Queen of the fae, and the
author made her very believable. The book left off with a
surprise ending, and now I have to get the next book, to
see what happens next!
