When I sat down with ALL THAT LOVE IS Is by Ginger Chambers I
knew I would get a happy ending, but was totally clueless
about the journey that would take me to the happy ending.
Due to the fact that it has the Everlasting
Love Flag on it, I didn't even read the blurb, so truly
went into the story blind.
Jillian or Jill as she's known for the majority of the
story and her husband Brad are attempting to return home
from a weekend in which they were to be celebrating another
couple's fiftieth wedding anniversary. The weekend was
stressful for Brad and Jill though as just before they left
home Jill announced she wanted to end their own marriage.
The return home was stressful enough as neither really
wanted to be in a car with the other, but when the
unthinkable happens, and their SUV is swept off the road in
an avalanche they must set aside their differences and work
together to survive being trapped for an indefinite amount
of time.
While being trapped and not knowing if and when rescue was
coming has got to be an experience one never wishes to
experience, it does give Jill and Brad time alone. They
have their moments when anger wants to flare, but they tamp
that down, and learn to work together in a way they haven't
done since the early days of their marriage.
If I had to find a flaw with the book I would say
it's the fact it takes place during a severe snowstorm, and
it's a July book. If it were a book released during a
winter month the setting would probably make more sense,
but as I said while I don't want to be trapped in a
snowbound vehicle it was nice to be able to pretend it was
a bit cooler outside than it actually is.
ALL THAT LOVE IS is another book that
I'm glad I read, and would recommend to all.
It was supposed to be a beautiful weekend with friends,
celebrating love and family, but Jillian Davis has only one
thing on her mind: divorce. After years of marriage to Brad,
she's finally ready to walk away from the anger and the
heartbreak. She's got to get out of here now! Snowstorm be
damned. But a shortcut home puts them directly in the path of
a small avalanche, and Jillian ends up trapped with the man
she thought she'd love forever. Suddenly survival is
paramount and, with the SUV as their only shelter, Jillian
realizes her best hope lies with the man she was ready to
leave behind.
