Janey Mackay has never fit in and her terrorist father Dayle made sure that she remained an outsider even to her own family. Tricked by Dayle into believing that her brother is hurt, she ends up stepping into her own personal nightmare. The only bright stop is her rescue by Alex Jansen, the man she daydreams about. Fueled by a desire to put the past behind her and earn the respect of the townspeople, Janey reopens the family restaurant. Only someone is not too happy that Janey is remaining around town. Someone wants to rid their peaceful town of a traitor, and the messages are all too clear to Janey. When Alex, her brother Natches, and her cousins become involved, she is ready to run so that none of them get hurt. Will she pull up the shallow roots she has planted and start over somewhere else? Or will she fight for the man she loves and the family who loves her?
Major Alex Jansen has been interested in Janey since she was jailbait. He is well aware that he is quite a bit older than her, and knows that if he so much as looks in her direction then Natches will kill him. Yet circumstances, though unfortunate, keep placing her in his path. He kills her tormentors and rescues her from their abuse, but there is someone there to take up where they left off. When he learns about the threatening notes, he does not hesitate to protect her by moving in. He is determined to make her his, and hopefully show her that not all men are monsters. He only has a few obstacles in the way -- mainly her overprotective brother and cousins -- and he knows how to work them. Will they be able to figure out who is sending the threats before those threats turn into something more violent? Will Alex finally admit defeat and surrender his heart to the woman who has claimed him?
Lora Leigh has penned a scorching hot suspenseful romance. She completely pulls you into her writing, and soon you wish you know the characters she introduces to you. Janey is a strong woman who is striving to make the most out of her second chance. She wants to know what it means to be normal, and to have someone consistent in her life. Alex is a very determined male who knows exactly who he wants and he is willing to go after her. It is amusing as these two stubborn individuals go head to head. Their stubbornness leads to some very fun and sexy scenes. Ms. Leigh has certainly captured my attention, and I look forward to reading her books in the future. NAUTI INTENTIONS is a wonderful book meant to be savored, and I would personally recommend devouring the whole series.
