After an injury left him unable to continue as an Army Ranger, Luke Rafferty switched to a medical career. As rewarding as his previous career was, his work as a doctor is more so. It doesn't bother him that he has very little time for a social life until social worker Devon Manning enters the picture. There is very little Luke won't do to get Devon to go out with him. From their first meeting sparks fly but Devon is wary of men and very protective of her private life. For Devon saving one child makes the frustration, the danger, and the long hours worth it. She has spent too many years hiding behind her work and since meeting Luke she can see how truly lonely her life has become. Before too long this couple is inseparable with Devon taking one day at a time and Luke longing for a more permanent relationship. When danger threatens Devon, all bets are off and there isn't anything this doctor won't do to protect her.
FRAGILE is a beautiful love story fraught with powerful emotions that pulls at the heartstrings. This heroine comes with lots of emotional baggage and it's up to the hero to tear down those walls she has built to protect herself. It's a book about self-discovery, trust and letting go of the past. Luke is definitely hero material. His actions are both sexy and deeply tender. The love scenes are plentiful and sizzling hot. When you add the mystery element with an interesting cast of secondary characters, especially Luke's twin brother then you can't help but devour this book from start to finish. The surprising and explosive ending is that little something extra that makes this author's book stand out. I am a huge fan of Ms. Walker because she never fails to give her readers what they want. For me that is a book that has characters who stay with you long after you have finished their story.

known. For Devon Manning, being a social worker is
a rewarding job, but also a constant reminder of her own
troubled youth. Devon takes everything one day at a timeβ
unable to form a relationship with anyone except the
children she rescues. When Luke meets Devon, he
thinks he might have found what heβs been looking for, but
in order to get the life he wants, Luke has to break
through Devonβs emotional barriers and make her realize
that his healing touch might be just the complication her
life needsβ¦
