Elizabeth Phoenix's world comes crashing to a halt when she answers her own intuition and visits her beloved foster mother, Ruthie. She finds Ruthie lying on the kitchen floor dying, desperate to speak to Elizabeth and guide her one last time before she passes. The next thing Elizabeth knows she's waking up in a hospital with detectives breathing down her neck, asking her questions about her first and only love, Jimmy, and the death of Ruthie, the only mother she knew.
Jimmy Sanducci doesn't need Elizabeth's help, but she does need his to protect her while delivering her to a Navajo Shaman to train for her future. She is adamant that trusting Jimmy is not an option because of their past, but the future is more important than them all. Both men do what they can to guide Elizabeth to learn more about herself, if she will only accept her fate and destiny to survive the Doomsday, which began the moment Ruthie past from this earth.
Totally fabulous and exciting book; my brain is still reeling with the possibilities! And I am eager to read more! I can't wait for the second book, DOOMSDAY CAN WAIT, set for publication May 2009.
