In A GENTLEMAN'S OFFER, dog groomer and business owner Yvette Coulier is resigned to servicing the rich and spoiled. She certainly never imagines becoming one of them. Then she is invited to join the secretive Black Stockings Society. When she meets Nate Blackwell, he makes her an offer she finds difficult to refuse. Thirty days living the life of a wealthy, socially-connected womanβ with him as her valeβand then they go their separate ways. Yvette must decide whether she truly believes that money can lead to happiness while Nate, who seeks a less complicated life, decides whether money really changes people.
A quick, provocative read, A GENTLEMAN'S OFFER continues the mystery of the sexy, secretive Black Stockings Society. Dara Girard weaves a fun, contemporary Cinderella tale that challenges beliefs about both the abundance and the lack of money. I continue to be intrigued by the notion of a secret society that makes women's dreams come true by way of gifting them with unique pairs of black stockings. My pantyhose have certainly not done anything like that!
I enjoyed this second book in The Black Stockings Society series as much as the first, and look forward to more from this series as well as to learning the true secret behind this secret society.
