Max Laurent and Maddy Green were dance partners at the
Sydney Dance Company until eight years ago when Max left to
care for his quadriplegic father, but they've never lost
touch. When Maddy is told her professional dance days are
over, the first person she turns to is Max. Arriving
unannounced at Max's Paris flat, Maddy hadn't even
considered that she might not be welcome and her instincts
were right. Max is more than happy to do whatever he can
for the woman he has loved in secret for the past ten
years.
With his father's recent death, Max has begun to explore
his interest in art. His first project is going to be a
series of dance inspired bronze sculptures. When his life
model cancels, Maddy offers to step in. Max isn't sure it's
a good idea but Maddy needs to be needed, so he agrees. An
even tougher task is introducing Maddy to Charlotte, his
sister. After a rough beginning, Maddy finds a unique
approach to communicating with Charlotte's three-year-old
autistic daughter and the women become true friends.
Living in the same flat for a prolonged period of time, it
was inevitable that Maddy would finally realize why she
came to Max for comfort. She loves him. But she's just as
afraid to change things as Max is, will one of them be
brave enough to take that leap of faith?
When the book starts, Max is a glutton for punishment and
Maddy is amazingly self-involved. As their story
progresses, Maddy becomes more aware of how the people
around her feel and Max is realizes he needs to stop making
self-sacrificing choices. It's when the two are able to
understand their true priorities and act on them, the story
reaches it's pleasantly satisfying end.
Max Laurent has always wanted Maddy Green. But he let her
go once before rather than stand between her and her
dreams. Now she's on his Paris doorstep, needing a place to
stay. She's just as hot and he wants her just as much. How
can he resist seducing her?
When Maddy's world falls apart, it's only natural that she
turns to Max for support. But fall into his bed? Never…
until one steamy night, that is. And having had a taste of
him, she's hungry for more. Then she has the chance to
resume her career, although it means leaving him. Can she
throw away the best sex—and the best friend—she's ever had?
