Romance Contemporary

Marnie Banks is a 34-year-old who's recently been laid off from her technology job, is up to her eyeballs in credit card debt and has been forced to move back home with mom and dad to get back on her feet. In the midst of a career change, Marnie is somewhat of a professional wedding planner "wannabe" -- looking for her big break.

She answers an audition call, of sorts, to coordinate a wedding for Thrillseekers Anonymous -- a business owned by four guys specializing in hosting extreme adventures for very rich clients and Hollywood stars. Eli McCain conducts Marie's audition and hires her to coordinate an extreme vacation/wedding on a remote Colorado mountaintop for Hollywood's hottest "it" couple: Olivia Dagwood and Vincent Vittorio. The bride quickly morphs in to a bridezilla and the groom turns out to be a selfish you-know-what with a bad case of "little man syndrome." The wedding deteriorates from there.

In the process of planning the event, Marnie and Eli become quite smitten with each other, even though they each try to deny it. Eli falls hard for Marnie's quirky personality, copper hair and maple eyes. Marnie falls hard for Eli's tough-guy, cowboy-like exterior and his kind heart. Will these two survive an extreme case of lust with the real possibility of love in the middle of an extreme wedding gone bad?

I found this book to be absolutely delightful. If you're a pop-culture junkie like I am and look forward to receiving People magazine in the mail every week, you'll definitely get a kick out of this book. London does a fantastic job with these characters, as well as creating several other vivid and amusing supporting characters that will tickle the reader. I highly recommend this book!

SUMMARY

When a pair of A-list movie stars decides to combine a wedding with an extreme sport outing, ex-stuntman Eli McCain isn’t too happy. One of Thrillseekers Anonymous’s founders, he was jilted at the altar a year ago—and has no interest in hearing wedding bells. Unfortunately, he’s been outvoted, and now there’s a crazy wedding to stage with a bridezilla from hell.

In comes wedding coordinator Marnie Banks to save the day— and, she hopes, make some romantic connections with Hollywood’s jet set. Only one problem stands in her way: Eli McCain, who may look like a movie star but clearly has no appreciation for the finer things in life.

But when a freak storm hits, Marnie and Eli are trapped on the wrong side of a ravine. Now if someone could just tell her why this handsome, rugged man is so obviously all wrong for her—because suddenly she can’t seem to survive without him…
