Women's Fiction | Romance

Three college friends have grown up but they refuse to grow apart. Amy is getting married to her longtime boyfriend Eric and wants to take a spa vacation with her two best friends, Caitlyn and Leah, before the big day. They are traveling from Chicago, Denver, and Portland to meet up in Mexico for a two week getaway at La Buena Vida resort. Back home Amy is a financial consultant, Leah is a biologist, and Caitlyn is a poet with a day job in a lotion store, but this vacation is meant to help them leave their adult, responsible selves behind for a bit. But they each have issues they can't leave behind. Amy is about to walk down the aisle but she's doubting her decision. She's afraid she settling and she wants her friends to help her live it up again. Caitlyn's mom won't tell her who her biological father is and it's caused Caitlyn to look at every man fifteen years older than herself as potentially being her father. Along with her mother's multiple marriages Caitlyn is left with no real idea of how to be in a monogamous relationship. Leah may appear to be the least troubled, with the most normal upbringing and a job she loves. Leah's has tragically low expectations for finding someone she can feel passionate about and who will love her back the same way. Can two weeks at a spa help these friends find the answers they need - and want? SPA VACATION illustrates a deep level of dedicated friendship and, how each woman's story is told through the years of their friendship, is what sets this book apart from others. Their foibles, their insecurities, and the way these friends encourage each other is sweet. But don't think these women ignore their sex lives. They share plenty of advice and encouragement there too.

SUMMARY

Two months shy of walking down the aisle, Amy Harrington can't imagine why she's suddenly having fantasies about other men. Sure, her sex life has become, well, routine, and she's never felt more confused about her future. Is this what saying "I do" is all about?

If she asked her best friends, Caitlyn and Leah, they'd say she was suffering from a potent mixture of chronic good girl syndrome and sexual code blue. Now, Amy can't help but think that maybe it's time she call off her wedding and embrace her inner bad girl. After all, brilliant and beautiful Caitlyn is clearly at peace with her naughty side, and nature girl Leah is so obsessed with her job she doesn't even need a man. Little does Amy realize that things aren't exactly perfect for her two best friends either.

Before anything gets too topsy turvy, Amy, Caitlyn, and Leah head off to a gorgeous spa in Mexico, where they plan to bond, get in touch with nature, and transform themselves into sexy, skinny vixens. What they don't realize is that this last hurrah could signal an exciting new beginning for each of them...
