Romance Paranormal | Paranormal

After a near-death experience, former Goth girl Nicki Styx can see dead people. Some of them need her help crossing over into the light. Some of them want her soul. Since the evil ones are liars, it can be hard to tell who's who.

When Nicki and her twin sister, who also sees ghosts, are called to Savannah to deal with some pressing family issues, spirits from both "sides" show up. Suddenly, it's all-out war with the forces of darkness for their souls, and the sisters are deeply divided over their war strategy concerning the evil dead.

Complicating things even more, Nicki is currently dating her sister's soon-to-be ex-husband, Joe. Nicki isn't sure what's worse, having to compete with sis over the man she loves (even though the competition may be a product of her over-imaginative brain) or having the Prince of Darkness insinuate himself into your darkest sexual fantasies. Our girl isn't asking for a white picket fence, but would a semi-normal life with Joe, one that doesn't include sis and the needy ghosts, be too much to ask for?

A MATCH MADE IN HELL is Garey's follow-up to last year's DEAD GIRLS ARE EASY. These two books firmly establish Garey as an author to be reckoned with in the paranormal romance genre. The book is nicely balanced between the relationships and the supernatural part of the story. The story never drags; it's well-paced throughout and the ending will leave you satisfied (and eager for the next installment coming March 2009). A MATCH MADE IN HELL will be easy to recommend to friends -- and they'll thank you for it.

SUMMARY

A brush with death and a brief trip to the hereafter left vintage clothing store owner Nicki Styx an unwilling ghoulfriend to the dead. She can see and hear spirits, and boy, do they want to be heard! Luckily, her new boyfriend, sexy doc Joe Bascombe, is there to help, especially when Nicki faces her latest ghost, a woman in pink sequins who holds the key to some family secrets.

Unfortunately for Nicki, it turns out that there are more skeletons in the family closet than she thought, including a twin sister and a mysterious house full of spirits and surprises. Things go from bad to worse when the devil himself shows up, determined to lure Nicki from Joe's side. Will she give in to temptation and sell her soul (or someone else's) for one incredible night?

Demons may be a ghoul's best friend, but with this particular hottie, it could be a match made in hell!
