Grace Knutson is a beautiful young woman, who is dedicated to her life in Blessing, North Dakota. Her family and she work hard for the things they have on the farm, and she is doing well despite the fact that she is hearing impaired. Unlike her twin sister, Sophie, Grace is dependable -- "Always Grace". She has had a crush on one man and only one man, and she has no desire to change that or anything else about her life.
Jonathan Gould, the new farmhand, came to Blessing to get his life under control. His father sees him as irresponsible and wants that to change. Hard manual labor will do him some good, but with a silver spoon in his mouth, how could he ever fit in? Amazingly, Jonathan takes to the life in Blessing and to Grace. He finds the life he had led in New York now shallow, but how will his parents react to his decision to abandon the family business? It was their fault he was in Blessing to begin with, but it wasn't their fault that he finds Grace incredibly attractive.
Can two people so different with dreams the other end of the spectrum find true love? Will their families even entertain the idea that the two might have a future together? There are a lot of obstacles to travel between North Dakota and New York, the difference in languages being the least. Jonathan may be learning sign language, but will he be able to give Grace a sign that she is his one true love? And will Grace be able to give up on her infatuation to grasp that love?
Lauraine Snelling's A TOUCH OF GRACE is another masterpiece in her Daughters of Blessing series. Not to be missed, Grace's story is one of overcoming obstacles when life seems unfair. A young, courageous and loving daughter, Grace finds out what it is like to come into her own. She is so different from her twin, yet she is a remarkable woman in her own right. The journey from "Always" to "Pure" Grace is an endearing one. Ms. Snelling has a way with words that takes the reader on a nostalgic journey into the lives of people who soon become family. An A+ read.
Eighteen-year-old Grace Knutson loves
Blessing, North Dakota, and sees no reason to leave. She's
more serious-minded than her twin sister, Sophie, and very
sensitive to the feelings of others. In spite of her
family's disapproval, Grace has always had a soft spot in
her heart for Toby Valders, for she's seen the vulnerable
side he keeps well hidden.
Jonathan Gould, the handsome
scion of a wealthy New York family, creates a flurry of
anticipation and speculation when he arrives in Blessing.
Jonathan's father wants him to learn the value of manual
labor and to appreciate the accomplishments of those not
born to wealth. Surprisingly, the "city boy" takes to farm
life and actually enjoys working from dawn to dusk alongside
the others. Soon he finds himself inexplicably drawn to
gentle, courageous Grace.
But Jonathan's affection
presents an agonizing dilemma for Grace. Is he truly the one
her heart desires?
