Pearl Barnes, chief justice of the United States Supreme
Court, is being blackmailed by her ex-son-in-law, and a
desperate Pearl contacts her old friend retired Judge
Cornelia Easter for help. Pearl suspects that Cornelia
and a few other people she can name, are members of the
notorious and exiled Sisterhood, and Pearl demands they
help her or she will expose them. Of course the original
seven vigilantes jump at the chance to get back on American
soil and do what they do best -- right the wrongs, fight
the
good fight, and flirt with going to prison for the rest of
their lives. You might say these ladies are adrenalin
junkies.
Charles Martin waves his magical wand and in hours of being
summoned the ladies are winging their way to the nation's
capital in a private jet wearing G-strings and guitars.
Yep, even Myra and Annie are a part of this dancing,
prancing group of rock stars called the G-String Girls and
they are putting on a concert in the US to benefit AIDS and
famine relief. Right under the nose of the FBI and that
dogged determined reporter Ted Robinson, these petite
amazons manage to snatch the bad guys and foil their
nefarious schemes against Pearl.
HOKUS POKUS is a page-turning, knee slappin' hoot! Fern
Michaels' awesome imagination knows no boundaries, and she
continues to dazzle and entertain her legions of fans of
this series. There are surprises, new romances, and a
poignant loss of a couple of the B-Team members. This is
beach reading -- or anytime reading -- at its finest and
funniest.
There is no match for the Sisterhood - the seven friends
who have taken vigilante justice to a new level - not even
the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Although the women
foiled former FBI director Mitch Riley's plot to frame
their friends Judge Nellie Easter and lawyer Lizzie Fox,
now they must remain in exile or risk capture. They can't
complain about their opulent digs on a remote, luxurious
mountaintop, but the ladies desperately miss home.
Their wish to return might come true sooner than they
expect when they receive a panicked call from Supreme
Court Chief Justice Pearl Barnes, who faces blackmail for
her own illegal brand of justice. Now the women must not
only sneak back into the United States, but also remain
undetected as they investigate. But how do you make seven
women disappear? With a nosy reporter on the brink of
exposing them, the clock is ticking as the Sisterhood
tries to create a little magic - and save the day . . .
