Riley Jenson is finally accepting her role in the Directorate as protector of the innocent against violent crimes. This currently consists of learning how to master her new talent of morphing into a bird, so she can better serve the public. The effects of the drug she was given when she was kidnapped a few months ago continues to intrigue both her and her employer, though some of the issues are devastating to a werewolf with vampire tendencies.
Riley is practicing the art of flying and crashing when she receives a call regarding the crime scene of a dead politician with very strange markings. The victim was the first politician to openly support the paranormal, so his death does not bode well for unique creatures such as Riley. Solving the case becomes a priority. Her investigation leads her in a direct path to Quinn, her sexy vampire ex-lover, who's an unexpected distraction she can never truly resist.
I absolutely loved this next chapter in the Riley Jenson series. The characters are witty, adventurous and totally believable. Riley is a bad-ass chick who is still coming into her own. THE DARKEST KISS is a very highly recommended read.
Danger turns her on.Desire turns her
dangerous...Riley Jenson hunts evildoersβand does it
with a style all her own. With vamp blood coursing her
through her veins, and a werewolfβs uncanny instinct for
danger, Riley wears snakeskin stilettos and pure,
in-your-face attitude when she plunges into her latest case:
hunting down a killer whose victims are high-society
strumpetsβand the rich and powerful men theyβve
dated. But for Riley, the case takes a chilling turn
when a second killer starts trailing mutilated bodies of his
own: a crazed young vamp choosing victims from a past marked
by tragedy. Riley knows sheβs got the skill and cunning to
catch two serial killers at onceβ¦until one of them strikes
inside her own tight-knit clanβand a sexy beast of a vampire
reenters her life to aid in the hunt. His name is Quinn.
Heβs lived forever, shed blood, and shared pleasureβ¦and heβs
the only man over whom Riley has absolutely no controlβ¦.
