A Perfect Stranger

Sydney Gordon , part time actress, postgrad educator and substitute teacher, was used to expressing a gamut of emotions, especially with her previous love life where she was used to being duped, dumped and disillusioned by men. So why now the empty void as she stared down at the glittering perfect one-carat emerald-cut diamond engagement ring presented to her by the everything perfected in place and financially secure and perfect gentleman in the perfectly appropriate restaurant?

Sydney's mother, Meredith Gordon, certainly wouldn't have any trouble accepting this fate for her daughter. In fact, she would probably disown her if she doesn't accept this perfect man and this perfect ring, so what can she do?

When in doubt, procrastinate! A time-honoured way out and one that at least stopped the tick in her eye! So, with a deep sign of relief, Sydney asks Henry to wait till she comes back from Europe and wings her way to Paris to help shepherd students on a school tour.

With an eye on landing a full time teaching position, Sydney vowed to do her outstanding best on this trip, but, even before the first day is out, she manages to mangle Nick Martelli, a fellow chaperone on this trip. Then, like cats tripping on hot wires, Nick and Sydney hiss and sizzle at each other while sparks fly between them for the rest of the trip.

With a black eye from checking out an imaginary scene to be developed into a novel, Nick doesn't convey a sense of comfort and financial security to Sydney, yet he manages to make her smile and laugh in a way that perfectly reliable Henry could not. Meanwhile, stateside, Henry tracks down Sydney's neighbour and good friend, Harley Maxwell, and finds a winning hand that he never expected!

Terry McLaughlin has a smashing hit on her hands with this delightful tale of Sydney's journey to true love. With a cast of quirky, yet very real characters, this author will immediately pull you so strongly into this story where you will laugh and cry, feel the triumph, and heart wrenching pain! This book just has to be made into a film, as I want to go see it! It's a solid gold read that will make your heart laugh!

SUMMARY

Marry the perfect man...or fall for the perfect stranger?

Charismatic Nick Martelli is all smoldering good looks and animal magnetism. Unfortunately, he's not the man Sydney Gordon is nearly engaged to--the man who's waiting for her to come back from Europe and accept his marriage proposal.

And Nick's certainly not what you'd think of as ideal husband material. Sydney needs somebody steady to help her rein in her impulsive nature...

Doesn't she?
