WHAT LOOKS LIKE CRAZY

Romance Contemporary | Contemporary Chick Lit

As a psychologist, Kate Holly fixes other people's problems. One would think that her life is a calm oasis. It's not. Kate's mother and aunt are dumpster divers who create art out of junk; her psychiatrist ex-boyfriend should be on the couch instead of treating people; her husband is probably the best thing that could ever happen to her, but she's about to make their divorce final.

Kate's typical day starts with one of her patients threatening to jump off the roof. She has a spectacularly rich woman playing the role of her secretary, who's also commercializing Kate's practice with specials such as manicures and pony rides. To top that off, Kate comes home at the end of the day to find her mother and aunt erecting a sculpture of a naked man and woman in her front yard. Once the elderly neighbor across the street sees the sculpture, she starts preaching fire and brimstone. Soon someone starts threatening Kate.

Kate still goes weak in the knees when she sees her soon-to- be-ex-husband, so why in the world would she want to divorce him? Because he's a fireman, of course; a man who risks his life on a daily basis to save others. See, Kate's dad was a fireman and he died on duty; something Kate cannot deal with anymore. She does not want to be the widow.

When the threats start looking like something more serious than the neighbor's taunts that Kate will go to Hell unless she removes the sculpture, Kate turns to her husband for help. Doing what he does best, he protects her.

For me, Kate is the stuff that smiles are made of. WHAT LOOKS LIKE CRAZY is a delightful way to spend an afternoon, evening or a late night. Charlotte Hughes knows how to entertain readers with humorous dialogue and nonstop comical situations. From panty fetishes to panty-less getaways, this story will make you smile, make you laugh and make your reading time thoroughly pleasurable.
