Giselle St. Germain wants nothing more than to stay in the
abbey she grew up in and become a nun. Fate has a different
plan for her though when she's accused of having the sight.
Forced out of the only home she's ever really known,
Giselle soon finds herself at the home of the Earl of
Hawksdown, where she meets his younger brother Piers, her
betroth. Struggling to come to grips with such a life
altering change, she can't help but cling to the abbey's
teaching to help her through.
The first time Piers Veuxfort laid eyes on Giselle, he
thought he was seeing an angel. It quickly became clear
though that his angel wanted no part of him and would
prefer he send her into the nunnery. Being forced into
marriage to a girl he's never met before isn't Piers' only
problem. During one of his travels, curiosity and
recklessness led him to touch a magic crystal, unleashing a
demon within his body. Now the demon inside of him is
urging him to take Giselle in every way, something Piers is
reluctant to do even though it's his right.
Piers seems to have devoted his entire life to pleasure,
which Giselle sees as a mark against him, but the more she
gets to know him, the more confused she becomes. She's
spent her entire life envisioning becoming a nun but being
around Piers makes her yearn for things she's never thought
of. Fate has brought these two together, but it's up to
them to have the courage to seize their destiny, and fight
the demons that pursue them both.
A LOST TOUCH OF INNOCENCE is the best historical book I've
read in a really long time! Amy Tolnitch transports readers
into another world and is quickly going to become a must
have on readers' auto-buy lists. Piers is such a
captivating hero. His inner battle with the demon invading
his body is reason enough to keep you flipping the pages
into the wee hours of the night. Giselle's battle with
herself to discover who she is outside the abbey is heart
wrenching. With such realistic dialogue, you can
practically feel her confusion coming off the pages as she
tries to come to grips with her changing reality. I can't
recommend this book enough for fans of historical and
paranormal romances.
By touching a magic crystal, Piers Veuxfort
recklessly unchained the essence of a decidedly wicked Fin
Man who now resides within his body. Meanwhile, Giselle St.
Germain’s life in a secluded nunnery is over and she has
been thrown into the world to become Piers’ bride. Giselle
quickly becomes frightened by both her betrothed’s unabashed
adherence to pleasure and his increasingly unusual
personality, and Piers wants nothing but to send back his
bride-to-be. Eventually the pair discovers that destiny is
theirs to win, but it will take all the courage that lies
within their deepest hearts to seize it
together.
