Ivy York hosts a talk radio show called Economic Sex Hex.
The radio show allows her to give advice to men and women
on how to protect their economic assets while in a
relationship, and the whole idea stemmed from her personal
experience. She was stupid and gave away too much
information to the man she loved, and he took advantage of
her trust. Her stupidity cost her a job and almost
resulted in her losing her freedom. Her true passion is
accounting and she does forensic accounting on the side to
make sure people obtain the money that is due them. The
subject of much rancor on her show is someone referred to
as the Urban Legend, a man who is known to retrieve stolen
objects. Ivy is convinced that his website is set up to
lure in women for purely sexual purposes. What would she
do if she came face to face with the Urban Legend?
Luke Sterling is a private investigator whose specialty is
recovering stolen objects. He is currently on the trail of
a couple of stolen statues known as the Jade Goddesses of
Fertility and Virility. His trail has led him straight
into the office of Ivy York. Rather it led him to her
mother, but he is confident that Ivy has to be the
mastermind behind the thefts. He figures that anyone who
can steal three million dollars, and have someone else take
the fall could easily maneuver the theft of a couple of
statues. He goes undercover as her assistant to get close
to her since she has a little bit of a hostility against
the Urban Legend as he has come to be known. Will he be
able to get the infallible Ivy York to make a mistake and
lead him to the statues? Or is she as innocent as she
seems to be?
Jennifer Apodaca has written another fabulous novel. Luke
and Ivy both have their hang-ups about each other, but that
makes for an extremely charged atmosphere and the right
conditions for their looming attraction to explode. The
other characters each have their quirks that make them
charming and add to the entertainment of the story. This
story seems to have it all -- romance, suspense, humor, and
murder. EXTREMELY HOT is a swiftly moving romantic mystery
that constantly keeps you guessing.
Ivy York became an accountant because numbers don't lie
and cheat. Too bad the same can't be said of the men she's
met. Now, as the wildly successful host of the radio
show, "The Economic Sex Hex," she advises women to take
control of their money and to spot the bad boys before
they get too close. And the ultimate bad boy Sex Hex is
the Urban Legend, a man known for lovin' women
(exquisitely) and leavin' while chasing down stolen
property for a hefty fee. No one knows who he really
is.but every woman he's ever pleasured would happily take
him back for more.
Luke Sterling likes being the Urban Legend almost as much
as he likes bringing thieves to justice. And right now,
he's on the trail of two stolen figurines famous for
conferring sexual prowess-and the trail leads straight to
Ivy. Posing as her personal assistant should be a piece of
cake, but Luke didn't count on Ivy's own brand of Sex Hex.
That good girl game coupled with fierce smarts wrapped
around one luscious, curvy body is making him want to
prove to Ivy that the Urban Legend more than lives up to
his top billing. Suddenly, the hottest show in town isn't
on the air-it's between the sheets.
