Usually Marcus Pierce, the new Earl of Danvers, is up for
any challenge; however, finding husbands for his three
newly acquired wards is not a task he's looking forward to.
Arabella, the eldest of the three Loring sisters, has
written him several times requesting emancipation. Marcus
is used to getting what he wants when he wants it and has
women fall over themselves to be with him. But when he
suggests to Arabella that she marry him, she refuses. Sure
of his charms, Marcus comes up with a wager. If in two
weeks time he can't woo her into becoming his wife, then he
will sign emancipation papers for Arabella and her two
sisters.
Each day Arabella finds it more and more difficult to keep
refusing Marcus and his request for marriage, confident
that he does not love her and this is all a game. But the
dreadful marriage of her parents and her own dissolved
betrothal is the only thing that keeps her from giving him
her heart. At first, Marcus thinks he wants a marriage-of-
convenience, but he soon discovers he loves Arabella and
wants to wed her for love. No matter what happens between
them, Arabella keeps refusing him and eventually asks him
to leave. When a friend finally convinces Arabella to give
her heart another chance at love, Arabella is afraid it's
too late and Marcus has moved on.
TO PLEASURE A LADY is romance to its fullest and finest; a
beautiful journey of falling in love. The male characters
are very sexy and the women are full of sass. I thought the
story wonderful and am looking forward to reading TO BED A
BEAUTY, middle sister Roslyn's story.
A strikingly handsome aristocrat with a wicked reputation,
Marcus Pierce inherits guardianship of spirited Arabella
Loring and her two younger sisters—and immediately
declares his intention to marry them off. Instead,
enchantingly defiant Arabella sparks something rebellious
and deeply erotic in Marcus. After matching both wits and
swords with her, the possessive nobleman concludes this
beautiful foe must be his.
Having sworn off marriage and men, Arabella wishes to be
left alone to run her finishing school for young ladies.
To that end, she boldly accepts Marcus's intimate
challenge: if he can woo and win her in a fortnight, she
belongs in his bed as his wife. However, if she can resist
his considerable charms, the Loring sisters will be
granted their independence. Thus a tantalizing game of
seduction and pleasure begins, where the cherished prize
could be their very hearts....n
