Romance Paranormal | Paranormal

Kira Smythe is one of those small-town girls who makes it as a big-time lawyer in the city and never wants to look back. Yet, when a tragedy leaves her drained and ill, back home is right where she finds herself. The longer she stays, the more she realizes that her little town isn't quite the way she remembers it. She appreciates her parents' talents with new eyes. For now, Kira sees things differently. Life is never dull for Kira, and seeing dead people is part of the package. They are talking to her and she is not going crazy. Her dear friend, the local librarian, passes away shortly after Kira returns and wills the library to Kira. There are a few strings attached and Kira has only one month to make her decision. A friend from college has introduced Kira to a carpenter who just happens to heat her up -- and she falls hard for him. However, her new boyfriend has some secrets -- but then so does Kira. How does she explain that she has special abilities? Someone is threatening Kira, her health is at risk, and the clock is ticking on the decision that will change the course of her life forever. Take the dream job of a lifetime or stay in Sweet and become the town's librarian? How much stress can a girl take? Candace Havens gave this reader exactly what she wanted. After reading her other Charmed stories, I'm delighted to report that LIKE A CHARM is a gem of a story. Havens has a talent for writing energizing and relaxing stories that leave a smile on your face long after you turn the last page. Simply charming.

SUMMARY

From the acclaimed author of Charmed & Dangerous comes a sassy new paranormal romance about a gorgeous librarian who sees dead people.

Kira Smythe never thought she'd end up back in her hometown of Sweet, Texas. But now that her high-powered job, along with her five-year plan, have gone right out the window, she's back where she started, staying with her hippie, tofu-obsessed parents-except that somehow she's inherited the local library. At least there's a gorgeous guy in town who seems quite smitten with her. So what if he's got a few secrets up his sleeve? After all, Kira's got her own secrets. Like the dead people who won't stop talking to her. Or the magical books on the shelves. Or the fact that someone who's very much alive seems determined to push her over to the other side.
