Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms officer, Connor Hawk usually got what he wanted in women. That is until he met fellow officer, Abigail Wells. Abby had turned communications agent after a raid gone wrong. She went to the Wyoming office to get her life back on track. Little did she know she would be doing more than just communicating with Connor Hawk. She sizzled every time she was around the man, so her best bet was to keep him at a distance. The possibility of that grew void when they were put on assignment together raiding the Kiddie Bombers ammunition hideout.

Dejavu' -- a raid gone wrong again, only this time it was Hawk and his buddy who were down and communications lost. Abby had to hit the fields running to save the man she, oh well, to save the man. Meanwhile, Hawk was being set up. This was an inside job, and Abby was a pawn in all of it caught between the man who had once saved her and the one she now trusted. Confused, she had to keep up her guard, but with Hawk who could really do that? The man could have crushed her by his sheer strength, but instead he was not hurting her in anyway. He was actually gentle. It was enough to make her question her doubts about everything -- including sex.

Cuffed together, Hawk and Abby escaped only to have to face the demons of their past and present. This time it was going to be the final battleground for it all and there was a lot at stake.

Jill Shalvis' SHADOW HAWK pages must have sizzled when she wrote them. What a great story filled with sex and suspense. I couldn't put it down. Ms. Shalvis takes an intense plot with great characters and hits the ground running from the first page. I wanted to fly away with Hawk. This great read leaves you breathless.

After all, she's in danger, too. And if the only way to keep the fiercely independent communications expert safe is to cuff her and bring her along for the ride, he'll do it. With pleasure, even. Only, given their close contact, it's not long before Hawk's thinking about a totally different kind of pleasure….
