The mighty Warriors of Poseidon -- magnificent fighters all,
who proudly bear the mark of the Trident. Their sacred duty
is to protect mankind from destruction. They stand shoulder
to shoulder against the rising tide of shifters and
vampires who would overrun the earth and destroy humanity.
They take their duty seriously and perform their appointed
tasks with all due reverence and...er...they do take
their duty seriously, but...well, boys just want to have fun.
Lord Vengeance, Ven to his friends and brethren, second in
line to the throne of Atlantis, is currently cooling his
heels in a dive of a bar. Not happy, not happy at all.
Waiting for a tardy Wizard and ready to rip someone a new
one. Well, here comes someone. Not the wizardy someone Ven
is expecting, but a witchy someone instead. A pretty
someone who makes Ven stand up and take notice. And start
stuttering inanely, just like any other guy faced with a
beautiful woman.
Erin Connors, the woman and witch in question, has a
similar reaction to Ven, but being a woman, she merely
raises a brow and attempts to keep her cool. It takes
everything Erin has in her not to fall drooling at the
Warrior's feet. She is after all a witch, a powerful gem-
singing witch at that. And so instead of drooling, she
looks down her nose and sneers. At least, she's starting
out with the upper hand -- in theory anyway. We can forgive
Erin her mistake, since this is the first time she's met a
Warrior of Poseidon, after all.
Erin represents the Circle of Light. She and her coven are
being courted by Con to form an alliance with Atlantis
against the vamps and shifters. Ven wants to forge an
alliance with Erin, all right. Right here and now. Erin
fascinates him like no other woman ever has and for the
first time he feels a little out of his depth with a woman.
Although he doesn't know it, Erin doesn't have any more
control of the situation than he does. Her Wilding Magic is
coming close to overwhelming her. And the gems are singing.
Not only to her, but Ven can hear them too, and that has
never happened before.
Ven and Erin are thrown together as Caligula, a powerful
vampire, seeks to claim Erin and her power for his own.
Caligula has big plans for the human world and it's up to
the Warriors of Poseidon to stop him in his tracks.
Wow, another page turner from Alyssa Day! This is
the third story about the Warriors of Poseidon, and like
its predecessors, it maintains a furious pace without
taking a breath or breaking a sweat. The warriors never
lose their sense of humor even when dealing with the worst
kind of evil. Although their women do scare the pants right
off of them, at times. Ven, the toughest of them all,
finally meets his match in Erin, a strong woman on a
mission of vengeance and salvation. Great entertainment
from Ms. Day and Berkley -- a winning team.
To rescue the world from an overwhelming evil, Poseidon's
warriors have risen from Atlantis. Chief among them is
Ven, serving as the King's Vengeance by birthright and by
battle challenge. None can conquer him - except perhaps for
one human female.
