Psychic Abby Cooper is back to crack another case with the
help of her crew of spirit guides. After being shot and
briefly dying, Abby is somewhat gun-shy about using her
psychic skills again. After all, if she couldn't foresee the
bullet meant for her before it hit her, how can she help her
clients? And would her clients put their trust in her?
As Abby struggles to regain her psychic equilibrium,
boyfriend and FBI agent Dutch Rivers requests Abby's help on
some cases gone cold. When Abby actually gets a reading from
a closed case file, the murder of a cop, she opens up a big
can of worms. She knows the real killer isn't the man who
confessed to the crime and is now behind bars. Since Dutch
doesn't want Abby's help on this closed case, Abby will have
to go it alone.
Before Abby knows it she's in over her head again. With the
help of some friends, her spirit guides and her psychic
senses, Abby may solve this case. But at what cost to her
relationship with Dutch? And will the real killer make Abby
his next target? Add in some distractions like the evil
antics of Dutch's cat and Abby has a full plate.
This is the first Psychic Eye mystery I have read. I think
Ms. Laurie has done a good job of covering background for
newbie readers to the series without over-explaining things
to old fans. I find the signals Abby gets from the other
side to be interesting in the way they appear, as metaphors
rather than cut-and-dried answers. Readers who love a little
woo-woo in their mystery will get a kick out of Abby Cooper
and CRIME SEEN!
