Renee, Danielle, and Kayla are in trouble. Big trouble. Man trouble.
Renee is married to a great guy. The hard-working, dependable, loving father to her children, tremendous provider type. Problem is, despite all that, he does nothing for her where it counts. In the bedroom. So Renee's been stepping out, getting her groove on with whomever she desires. John doesn't seem to notice her bedroom boredom but she gets a wakeup call when he involves them both in a new game.
Danielle has a man she can't depend on, just the last of many. She has a thing for thugs. Low-rider jeans-wearing types with underwear sticking out, cornrows, gold chains... and no j-o-b. But it doesn't seem to matter to Dani as long as she's getting her sexual needs satisfied. To make matters worse, she's having a hard time taming her hot-to- trot teenage daughter. When a guy comes along who is less thug and more man, should Dani forget about the bad boys and try for a chance at something more?
Kayla, overweight and insecure, has had a steady guy for four years. Only he's a prominentโand very marriedโ pastor. Her girlfriends, Renee and Dani, have been trying to get her to drop him for years, and now, a handsome co- worker is showing interest. But Kayla's convinced that she's in love and if she just plays her cards right, she'll be the next First Lady. That is, until Pastor Brown's games take an unexpected turn that could mean life or death.
Angie Daniels is particularly adept at stringing together plot twist after plot twist in ways that the reader never sees coming. At times, the graphic sex scenes were a bit over the top, at least for me, but if one likes their romance hot, then TROUBLE LOVES COMPANY may be just the read. I never felt completely drawn into the story but rather as though I were listening to it, which detracted a bit from my enjoyment. But in the midst of their sexual escapades, the three main characters search their hearts and struggle with issues that many women face in order to find true love. That was enough to keep me reading.
For romance author Renee
Moore, true love
only exists in books. Despite a wealthy, adoring husband,
Renee is
unhappy-and deeply unsatisfied, which explains her
bed-hopping habit.
But Renee's husband will do anything to keep her, including
embarking
on an erotic lifestyle that includes swinging, which forces
Renee to
confront some painful truths about her marriage-and
herself.
Practical
Nurse Danielle Brooks has always had a thing for young
thugs-until her
latest, Ron, pushes her too far with his baby mama drama and
freeloading ways. Danielle realizes it may be time to
rethink her
choices in men. But when her troubled teenage daughter ends up
pregnant, Danielle's worlds collide as she finds herself
torn between a
girl who has a habit of crying wolf-and a man who swears
he's not the
father.
As far as administrative assistant Kayla
Johnson is
concerned, Reverend Leroy Brown walks on water-despite the
fact that
he's cheating on his wife-with her. Kayla is convinced the
naughty
Reverend is going to leave his family for her-until she
catches him in
bed with another woman. But walking away from Leroy is only the
beginning of Kayla's troubles.
As Renee, Danielle and
Kayla band
together, they discover a world of secrets they never
imagined-and
learn a lesson about the power of love, truth, and
friendship that
makes it all worthwhile.
