Kelsy Chandler has it all -- a successful career as a morning news anchor, the love of her child, and a handsome fiancé, Finn Bishop. Finn's profession as an undercover cop has left them with only a few stolen moments together, but the love they feel for each other is strong. Finn would move heaven and earth to make Kelsy happy, having stepped in when her ex-husband walked out on her and her son. Even though she's a few years older than him, she's still his QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE. Kelsy is looking forward to having Finn all to herself for a few days on the mini-vacation they'll be taking to Montana, but Finn is working on an undercover job and he doesn't know how to tell Kelsy that taking this time off for a vacation may be jeopardizing his career.

When Kelsy is offered the possibility of a dream job, she doesn't tell Finn about it. What starts as a series of little fibs soon becomes complicated lies, and Kelsy is torn between her career and settling down as a wife and mother again. Finn knows that whatever is bothering Kelsy can be worked out if she'll just talk to him. Their vacation ends early when Kelsy's son gets hurt, but Finn gets a call that places her at the scene of a hit-and-run accident, and he's more than willing to prove her innocence.

This story is full of trials and tribulations in a complicated but loving couple. Kelsy has to make decisions about her life and prioritize her career, family and romantic relationship. Finn is willing to do anything to prove he loves her. This good read is a nice rainy day sort of story.
