Sara Montgomery likes to play it cool and "undercover" as an investigator for Prescott Personal Securities. She is now playing a role that is all too well suited as she was once a debutante with the rich Denver, Colorado sect. But her debutante days were soon over after the unfortunate murder of her sister, Annemarie. Sara's main goal in life is to find her sister's murderer and stop anyone else who crosses the line when it comes to obeying the law. Her newest assignment is to investigate millionaire Kyle Prescott who has become the main suspect in a conspiracy of fraud, underhanded land deals and possibly even murder.

When Sara meets Kyle at his stepfather's birthday party, their attraction is almost scorching. Kyle doesn't quite understand why this interesting woman has caught his eye, but he is willing to see if she will welcome him with open arms. Sara is thrilled to pretend to be overwhelmed by Kyle's seductive tactics. What she doesn't realize is that her act will soon become truth. Kyle is the perfect person to help her and they soon enter a dance of lies and betrayal in which Kyle has more secrets than Sara could ever imagine. She will not be deterred even as her attraction for this complex man grows. Kyle has become quite an enigma to Sara as he shows her he is not some playboy shark the world believes him to be. But, all too soon things become even more complicated as someone is trying to stop them from finding out the truth. Their lives are in continual danger as a car tries to run them off the road, Sara is shot and a dead body is left in Kyle's garage for the police to find. Will Sara let go and trust Kyle, or is he really the villain orchestrating everything, maybe even the death of her own sister from years ago?

This fast paced story is for any fan of suspense and intrigue. Kyle and Sara are perfect for each other regardless of the danger, but that doesn't stop them from both falling in love. I found Sara to be an uncompromising woman because of her sister's grisly death, but with Kyle she becomes a new and improved person. Kyle, at first glance, comes across as a playboy who won't take no for an answer. But as soon as he understands how Sara operates, he is willing to do whatever possible so they could have a future together.

I whole heartily recommend this tale of murder, lies and secrets. The action is non-stop and the author has written two strong and appealing people who practically burn up the pages with their heat.
