Erotic | Romance Paranormal

Rene Broussard and his partner, Chessa Tomas, are tailing Natalie Lambert due to some suspicious deaths in her family in Tennessee. Natalie has returned to New Orleans because she feels comfortable there. However, the troubles that plagued her in Tennessee have followed her to New Orleans. Only with the help of the detectives will she be able to learn what is happening to her.

Rene knows that he shouldn't sleep with the woman he is guarding but there is something about her that makes her irresistible. The troubling behavior of his partner and her inexplicable absence leads Rene into trouble, which he could never have envisioned. Rene has long known that Chessa was a vampire but he never expected to find himself the meal for a vampire just discovering her indentity.

With the help of a mysterious friend of Natalie's, Natalie and Rene will escape the evil seeking her out. At the same time, they will thwart Chessa's family and their plans for Natalie.

While much of the story was intriguing, I felt like there was too much left open-ended. We learn very little of Natalie's friend, Simon, and his background. There are several questions that I would like to have seen answered.

This review is from the trade paperback edition.

SUMMARY

A woman's hunt for pleasure knows no rules . . . and no boundaries.

Escaping from a tragic past, Natalie Lambert arrives in New Orleans and falls victim to a series of strange, unearthly attacks. Now, for the first time in her life, Natalie aches with sexual desire. Confused, frightened, out of control, she struggles desperately to understand a world that is transforming around her. But soon she will be powerful and magnificent in ways she could never have imagined . . .

A ruggedly handsome Cajun policeman, Detective Rene Broussard has come to rescue Natalie in her time of greatest need. And when he inexplicably wakes in bed beside herβ€”both burning with a lust impossible to denyβ€”he doesn't care that a dark and vengeful enemy has brought them to this moment. All that matters is the irresistible curve of her body, the heat of her passion . . . and the forbidden pleasures the night promises.

With one sharp, sensuous, biting kiss, he will be hers for life . . . and beyond.
