Riley Jenson, a half-vampire/half-werewolf mix, is enjoying her relaxing six-week vacation on Monitor Island when she receives an unwelcome visitor from her werewolf clan, Blake Jensen. This is the same clan member who tortured and banned Riley and her brother from the only family they knew, so she's extremely resistant to offer her help for any reason. Blake is requesting her Guardian skills to find his missing daughter, and he's not below threats to get what he wants.
While grudgingly lending her skills to her enemy, Riley simultaneously begins working on a case for the Directoriate. She's investigating a nightclub mixing humans and werewolves together to enrich their sexual desires and is finding that both cases have some details in common. All the while, Riley's love life is becoming more intense; she cannot forget the vampire who's stolen her heart or let go of the werewolf who claims to be her life mate.
Once again Keri Arthur has created a perfect, exciting and thrilling read with intensity that kept me vigilantly turning each page, hoping it would never end. Okay, I admit it. I'm a little disappointed that Quinn didn't make a personal appearance.
