Romance | Romance Suspense

The Last Chance, Inc. specialists have been called in again, this time to help photojournalist Melissa Pope (who also happens to do a little work for the CIA). On an assignment tracking weapons smugglers, Melissa finds herself in serious trouble and contacts Nigel Ferris, a British special agent and member of Last Chance, Inc. They'd had a brief relationship in the past (brief, maybe, but intense...), however, the very nature of their businesses drove them apart. Nigel had been unaware that she worked for the CIA and both have their trust issues to work through.

But trust him or not on a personal level, Melissa knows Nigel will help her as she struggles to determine who in her organization is working for the enemy. When her handler turns up dead after she herself is poisoned, Melissa knows the game is for real. Thank goodness she has Nigel and his crew backing her up.

This third book in the Last Chance series is terrific! I'm a sucker for all the special agent books (and apparently, so is the rest of the public because they're certainly peppering the shelves right now) and Davis never disappoints. I'd recommend reading this series from the beginning (includes ENDGAME and ENIGMA), only because I think the development of the characters is great and you become more and more invested in them through each book.

working covert operations, and avoiding relationships.
Until he’s called upon to help foil an International
terrorist plot, and comes face to face with the one woman
who ever came close to scaling his emotional walls.

she’s been gathering is invaluable – so much so that
someone’s willing to kill to her for it. But the man
assigned by Last Chance to protect her is another kind of
threat altogether…

Drawn into the heart of a dangerous game of International
intrigue Melissa and Nigel are soon fighting for their
lives… and for the chance to explore the long-denied
passion that still burns between them.
