When Jade Nethercott is asked to go to London and investigate a murder, she knows she has no choice in the matter. The person requesting the favor happens to be a ghost, and in exchange for Jade doing as he requests, he's promised to find a way to bring her father's spirit back, so Jade can talk to him one last time. But the man the ghost has accused of the murder is a known rake, and where Jade needs to investigate could surely ruin her reputation.
Gideon Bannatyne never wanted the family title; he was more than happy with his life before his relatives started dropping like flies. Even though the deaths were determined to be accidents or natural causes, Gideon knows they were murdered. And he has every intention of seeing that the responsible person hangs. When beautiful Jade enters his life requesting his assistance, he's more than willing to help; for helping her will help him gain the answers he needs.
The heat of attraction between Jade and Gideon, combined with the suspense of murder and the spiritual world, makes this story hard to put down. Jade is a strong-minded woman who knows how to use her brain and her femininity. Gideon is not only an intelligent man, but he exudes sex appeal and knows how to use it. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to Jade's sister, China, having her story told soon.
Her dear father died before convincing people of the
existence of ghosts, so Jade Nethercott and her sisters set
out to prove him right. Meanwhile, a ghost named Renshaw
reveals to Jade his murderer's identity-Lord Bannatyne,
notorious rake-so that she might protect Renshaw's fiancee.
A nervous Jade finagles a meeting with Bannatyne, but he
proves to be anything but rakish when he risks arrest
rather than ruin Jade's reputation. Now she must decide
whether to heed the ghost's warning-or follow her heart...
