Mystery Amateur Sleuth

As the owner of the Made In Heaven Wedding Designs, Carnegie Kincaid had seen her fair share of happy-ever-afters, and some not so happy-ever-afters, from behind the scenes. So when she is invited to attend her friend Tracy's extravagant wedding to her former love interest Jack Packard, which is being planned by her nemesis and top wedding designer Beau Palierre, Carnegie begs off from attending. She'd rather not see what either competition was up to, seeing as her own business was suffering as was her present love life. But when circumstances begin a down-hill run, starting with the untimely smoke-jumping death of her not-so-favorite cousin Brian and a frantic phone call from her best friend BJ involving an incident revolving around both Brian's death and their friend Tracey's wedding, Carnegie finds herself sucked into going back home to Sun Valley, Idaho to try and smooth over a crisis of the heart, solve a possible murder, and sort out a wacky soap-opera wedding.

Once she arrives home, Carnegie must undertake an incredibly difficult job of multi-tasking when she is asked to take over the planning and running of Tracy's wedding, help her friend BJ track down a precious piece of jewelry that will save her marriage, find out how and why her cousin died so mysteriously, and keep her old boyfriend, Jack, and her new boyfriend, Aaron, from killing each other, all while dealing with Tracey's flaky, purple-loving mama and her incredibly wealthy, but down-to-earth papa as well as her own mother's blossoming romance. Whew!

Author Deborah Donnely delivers a fast paced, lively and well-written who-done-it in her latest book, DEATH TAKES A HONEYMOON. Part cozy mystery/part romance, this story is filled with well-rounded and developed characters, a fascinating and intriguing plot line that moves along smoothly, and a delightful sense of humor that entertains the reader.

Family secrets, hidden love affairs and ice-rink brawls and lots of champagne make DEATH TAKES A HONEYMOON a great summer-time book to take along on vacation or savor at home.

SUMMARY

TO SURVIVE THE WEDDING OF THE SEASON...

Wedding planner Carnegie Kincaid can feel the heat when she reunites with an old flame in the wealthy resort community of Sun Valley–but handsome smoke jumper Jack Packard is about to marry Carnegie’s former best friend, now a famous TV actress. With a star-studded ceremony to pull off, a noncommittal boyfriend back in Seattle, and a supercilious Frenchman barking orders, Carnegie has no time for carnal urges. Especially once murder joins the party.

YOU’VE GOT TO TAKE THE PLUNGE.

The victim was a local hero who leapt from planes to fight fire. But was his impromptu skydive a smoke screen for something sinister? With her florist going AWOL, her bride going ballistically Hollywood, and her curiosity running wild, Carnegie may be in over her head: Someone in Sun Valley is a killer–and it’s up to Carnegie to grill the guests and unmask the villain…or watch her glitzy job go up in flames.
