Jennifer MacLeod McKinnon is ready for it to be her turn. Sure, she's talented and successful. A thoroughly modern Millie; independent and on her own; happy and self- sufficient; career-minded and...and who's she trying to convince? Jennifer wants more. Politically correct or not, she wants a man. And even though she hasn't exactly been beating the bushes, her eyes have been open. Trouble is, she's been looking toward the future when she should have been looking in the past. Yikes! Hers is a family that can't keep both feet planted firmly in the present.
Jennifer finds her man, Nicholas de Piaget, in the year of our Lord 1299. She knows she's out of time and he knows it too, but she can't seem to get back. Sure, she knows where the time gate is, but something (or someone) is keeping her firmly in the 13th century. Nicholas is single, handsome, has a sense of humor and is completely charming. He's also headstrong, stubborn and determined that he's not going to fall under Jennifer McKinnon's spell. He's also a little jealous. Jealous of the other men in the keep who are falling for the beautiful little time-traveler.
Nicholas curses his fate, but gives into it all the same. Meanwhile, Jennifer is finding that life isn't all fun and games in the past. She's traveled to a time where life is hard and everyone is expected to earn their keep. There's also a fanatic who watched Jen come through the time gate and is anxious to see her burned as a witch. Actually, he's looking forward to doing the job himself. And like Nicholas, Jennifer knows where she belongs...or doesn't belong. That big brain of hers is telling her to go back home, but her heart...well, her heart is whispering that she just might already be there.
Another winner by Lynn Kurland! The time-travelers are expanding their family with new friends and relations. The sisters are all settled and happy with their men and the future looks bright indeed!
