Romance Historical

Lady Adela Macleod doesn't have much luck with weddings. Abducted during her first wedding, she was rescued (in a previous book by Ms. Scott) and now is trying once more to marry Ardelve. She may not be passionately in love with him, but she's looking forward to an orderly, calm life as his wife. But she's his wife for only a few hours, as Ardelve dies during their wedding celebration. Convinced that she wasn't meant to be married, Adela is trying to decide what to do amidst much advice from her family. She finds herself wandering the castle in the middle of the night and confiding her worries to a soft voice from the darkness. The next day, she's embarrassed and tries to figure out with whom she shared her soul. Sir Robert Logan was thought dead by many, and it's a situation he encouraged. He left his family as a young man, angry at his father and brother, and worked hard to gain respect as a Knight Templar. Now, his father and brother are dead, and it's necessary for him to return home. Robert has not even introduced himself to society when he meets Adela and is drawn to the courageous lady. But his enemies are trying to extract information they believe he has, and Robert doesn't think he can ask anyone else to share that burden. The saga continues in KNIGHT'S TREASURE -- and Ms. Scott brings her usual superb pen to the pages. It's fascinating how a rather annoying character from a previous book (annoying may be too strong, but Adela was not lovable!) can show her heart and thoughts and become a much beloved friend. I must admit that other heroines were more memorable in this series, but I can still highly recommend KNIGHT'S TREASURE.

Having abandoned his heritage to protect a vital family secret, and sworn to protect the Templar treasure, Rob is in no position to pursue the fascinating lass he once rescued.
