Emily Hamilton's family is instructed to send a woman to
the Highlands of Scotland to be married to the laird of the
Sinclair Clan. Her stepmother wants to send her hearing-
impaired sister, so to save her younger sister from this
horrible fate, Emily volunteers to go in her place. Friends
are hard to come by in the harsh, foreign country where
Emily is hated simply for being English. Not only that,
Talorc, laird of the Sinclair Clan and Emily's groom-to-be,
calls off the wedding when he decides he cannot tolerate
her stubborn streak. Her only friend is Talorc's sister,
Cait.
Cait and Emily are kidnapped by the Balmoral Clan in
retaliation for the kidnapping and marriage of one of their
women. Spirited away to a nearly impenetrable island
fortress, their plan is to leave Emily behind. Emily lies
to Lachlan, laird of the Balmorals, in hopes of saving her
friend. Believing Emily to be the Sinclair laird's bride,
Lachlan brings her along. Her plan backfires, however, when
Cait, with much less reluctance than expected, marries
Drustan.
Lachlan and Emily are intensely attracted to one another
and struggle not to act on their desires. Both are stunned
when Emily discovers that the clans Sinclair and Balmoral
are Chrechte, powerful werewolves bound by centuries of
tradition, and yet she is not repulsed by the revelation,
but even more attracted to Lachlan. As their feelings for
one another strengthen, making Lachlan consider going
against clan rule to accept a human as his mate, a young
Balmoral soldier is murdered and their future, as well as
Cait and Drustan's, is threatened.
Lucy Monroe's MOON AWAKENING is a sensual, humorous
story with intriguing and entrancing characters. The reader
is treated to the story of Cait and Drustan, married as
soon as they meet and overcoming differences to make their
union successful, and Emily and Lachlan's story, opposites
in so many ways and struggling against their attraction,
eventually finding strength in their differences. Readers
will enjoy watching the two alpha males tamed by their
feisty women. This first book in the Children of the Moon
series is outstanding, and I'm looking forward to future
stories.

but the woman he takes along with her proves to be the
greater prize...
For Emily feeds a desire he has never known existed. And
though Lachlan would not think of touching his enemy's
betrothed, he must know how a mere woman could tame his
heart so easily...
