Colby Blanchard may be an unwilling half-blood vampire, but now that she's accepted her situation, she's all about activism. In the first book in this teen vampire series, BRACED2BITE, Colby fought for and won emancipation for half- bloods and now they've allowed her to set up a sorority, Psi Phi.
But has Colby taken on more than she should? Full-blooded vampires hate the half-bloods and it's a challenge keeping them safe. And within the first week of other girls arriving at the sorority, one is found dead.
Added to the tense situation and whether she can handle her position, Colby is at odds with her on-again-off-again boyfriend Thomas. His job, before the half-blood's emancipation, was to ummmm...terminate them. Well, he might put it nicer than that, but that's what it was. And while he's glad Colby won her case and that half-bloods are allowed to live, he can't seem to let go of his control freak nature and accept that Colby can take care of herself. Aside from the odd murder here and there...
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and look forward to the next book. Snappy dialogue, intriguing characters and just the huge potential inherent in the storyline will certainly keep me reading. And although the books are geared toward teens, I think they're a fun read for anyone.
