Jack Norton is a GhostWalker, a physically and psychically
enhanced soldier. No woman could ever play a major role in
his life -- he feels nothing but rage. His life has meant
pain and betrayal, and he fears he could turn out like his
father, obsessive and murderous. But that was before the
scientist who created him forced a confrontation with
Briony, another of the doctor's enhanced wonders. She's the
one woman created specially for him.
Briony has spent her life in pain, performing as a trapeze
artist with her adoptive family. The pain comes from all
the emotions that bombard her in large crowds of people.
But Jack brings peace. Tranquility. Normalcy. When she and
Jack are brought together, they discover the good doctor
plans to use Briony to breed a new generation of super
beings, and she refuses to depend on Jack for help. She
won't be dependant on a man who's so cold and antisocial.
CONSPIRACY GAME is the latest addition to Ms. Feehan's
GhostWalkers series. A great tale from the get-go, I
thoroughly enjoyed it. Strong, smart woman, alpha-plus
male, lots of action, tenderness and a very bad bad guy.
What more could you want? The evil scientist written for
this series is the perfect adversary. He's able to impact
every thought and action of both hero and heroine without
even putting in an appearance. Way to go, Ms. Feehan, great
writing. I can't wait for the next one. A very good read.
