While the holidays are approaching for the citizens of Cape Light, Lillian Warwick is reminiscing about when she first met her husband, Oliver. When she takes a tumble down her attic stairs, she ends up reluctantly needing around the clock nursing care.
Charlie and Lucy Bates run the Clam Box in Cape Light. However, it has always been Lucy's dream to become a nurse, and she has just started her training at Southport Hospital. Lucy's time away from the diner and home is putting a strain on the couple's relationship. Not to mention how hard her supervisor is on her. Will her marriage survive?
Sara Franklin, Lillian's granddaughter, is engaged to Luke McAllister, much to Lillian's dismay. But they are in love and wish to get married. What does Lillian have against Luke? Does their engagement remind her of when she was engaged to Oliver?
A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER is a charming story about a picturesque and quaint New England community. Once I started this story, I could not put it down. This is a great series and I look forward to reading more.
As the citizens of Cape Light deck the halls for a
Christmas to remember, the curmudgeonly Lillian Warwick has
been confined to her bed with pneumonia. Cared for by her
daughters, Emily and Jessica, she lets her thoughts drift
back to the holiday season of 1955, to the magical time
when she first met Oliver Warwick - the dashing man who
would become her husband.
Back then, Lillian was beautiful, spirited, and idealistic,
and Oliver was a wonderful man who took a real joy in
living. As she recounts those romantic early days to her
daughters and faces the mistakes she's made, she is
reminded of a time when she had much to be grateful for -
and of all the special gifts Christmas can bring.
And, to cap off this special, life-altering holiday season,
there just might be a winter wedding on the horizon...
