In 1814, the Raven was a highwayman, and he was murdered by one of his closest friends. But he's given another opportunity to put things right and finds himself in 21st- century England, asking the beautiful solicitor Melanie Jones for help.
Melanie is nothing if not practical. Reliable. Conservative. So why is she even considering helping this. . . ghost? No, he's there in the flesh. But there's no denying that this is the infamous Raven, and he's as gorgeous and sexy in person as he is in the painting hanging in the house where she's working. It takes a short trip back in time for Melanie to be convinced that she must help Nathanial Raven right the wrongs that were done during his lifetime. Even if doing so means they will both go back to their separate centuries, and Melanie will lose a man she's starting to care for entirely too much.
Ms. MacKenzie's second novel in her Immortal Warriors trilogy is fast-paced and intriguing. Unlike most time travels, where everyone tries very hard not to change anything that can upset the course of history, Nathanial's whole goal is to save his homestead. Doing so would certainly change history in a way that would affect the present. That's not the only thing different in this time- travel book, and you'll enjoy delving into Ms. MacKenzie's world. Melanie blooms into a woman to be admired and Nathanial has learned much through the centuries. A good read.
Melanie Jones thought she was imagining things. Surely
thereβs not a breathtaking man astride a magnificent black
horse racing her sports car on a country road. And he has
the nerve to wink at her, just before he vanishes into the
night! When he appears to her in solid, sinewy muscle,
Melanie realizes heβs realβ¦and irresistible.
Nearly two centuries ago, Nathaniel Raven was betrayed and
murdered by a trusted friend. He now has one opportunity
to uncover the secrets of that night, and Melanie is the
only woman who can help him. She may be the most
infuriating and independent woman heβs ever known, but
there is no denying the burning passion between themβ¦or
the lethal danger that has followed him from the pastβ¦
