One spring evening in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, two young
lovers embrace and anticipate a night to remember. What
Crow Davenport and Sophie Chabot don't plan on is the
nightmare to come. While attending a party, they decide to
sneak away into the woods to be alone. Crow leaves Sophie
alone for awhile to retrieve something from his car, and
while he's gone, she's raped by multiple attackers. Sophie
is so traumatized that she mentally blocks out the entire
night. All she remembers is Crow. This puts him on trial
for her rape.
As the trial progresses, Crow is confused as to why Sophie
accused him. He thought they had something special going.
But as Sophie starts to remember that night and pieces
together what really happened, people around her begin to
get nervous. Who attacked her and why?
In THE SLOW MOON, Ms. Cox has written a coming-of-age story
about overcoming tragedy, friendship and starting over.
There is good mystery and suspense mixed in with bold and
colorful characters. Once I picked this book up, it was
hard to put it down. Another great addition to my library.
