Down–and–out ex–private investigator J.D. Fiorella is trying to get back on his feet. For the first time in a while, J.D. has a salary and a solid support system in place, and he's even able to strike up an intimate relationship with one of his new coworkers. But just as things start to look up for J.D., his only friend is gruesomely murdered. J.D.'s old habits kick in and he embarks on a mission of revenge. Recalling his five years as a private investigator in New York, J.D. begins to skillfully uncover clues to Woody's murder. As more crime scenes appear though, he discovers he is on the trail of a vicious, psychopathic serial killer. The twists and turns continue as J.D. finds out the truth behind his job, his new girlfriend, and the murder's strange connection to his past. J.D. digs up his old contacts from New York to acquire information and weapons, and enlists help from two rogue police officers that had also been hunting down the same guy.
