Fiction Family Life
For generations, the natives of Harrisport have watched wealthy summer families descend on their Cape Cod town, inhabiting the massive cottages along the town’s best stretches of beachfront. But when rich Southerner Tucker Moss breaks the heart of local girl Edie Wright in the summer of 1966, an enduring war starts between the two families that lasts for generations.... Edie’s youngest child, Lexi, should know better than to fall in love with a Moss, but at eighteen, she falls hard for Tucker’s son, Hudson—only to find herself jilted when Hudson breaks off their engagement. Eleven years later, Lexi returns home after two years away studying architectural photography, just in time for yet another summer on the Cape. When Hudson’s younger brother, Cooper, arrives unexpectedly to sell the seaside estate after the death of his father and hires Lexi to photograph it, an unlikely attraction forms, and Lexi finds herself torn once again between passion and family loyalty. Then renovations at the Moss guest house reveal a forty-six-year-old declaration of love carved into a piece of framing—and a startling truth that will force two women and the men who love them to confront the treacherous waters of their pasts.

Re: The Guest House
My husband and I vacationed in the Cape Cod area last summer and I fell in love with it. I want to go back so what a better way than through this book with romance to boot!Certainly keeping my fingers crossed for this one! (Melanie Backus 9:35am August 14, 2013)
I'm not sure about my latest literary crush, but my most enduring crushes would be Darcy and Rochester. I loved your post, and I think you had me hooked on reading your book with the description! Congratulations and thanks for the chance to win!!! (Linda Brennan 10:05am August 14, 2013)
Thank you, Melanie and Linda, for leaving such kind words! I hope you both are keeping summer going where ever you are--I know I'm not ready to put away my beach bag just yet! ;) (Erika Marks 10:29am August 14, 2013)
I've never had the good fortune to go to the Cape, but have been around Maine, visiting a good friend, and love that area. As for latest literary crushes, I don't have any at the moment. I've been busy knitting baby gifts for the past few months and have about reached my limit!! LOL They're winding down now, and I'm looking forward to a good book such as yours to reward myself with as soon as I get done!! I can picture the ocean spray hitting my face as I type already!! I love the cover of the book as well!! Somebody outdid themselves to compliment what I'm sure is going to be a great read!! (Peggy Roberson 11:21am August 14, 2013)
Peggy, I appreciate that! I love the cover too. Baby gifts! How exciting! I am so admiring of knitters. It can be very tricky. One of these days I will get the hang of it!:) (Erika Marks 11:53am August 14, 2013)
Sounds like a story with depth. Barbara Cartland said she fell in love with all her leading men, but she turned out a novel in a week or so, dictating to a secretary. I don't think it would be the same! (Clare O'Beara 2:16pm August 14, 2013)
Clare, I had never heard that great story about Ms. Cartland--that's a lot of men and, as you point out, for very short periods of time! :) (Erika Marks 4:38pm August 14, 2013)
