A shard is, a very short, generally single line, thought.
Very short thoughts do not take long to read, but may take
a while to understand. A stanza is a occasionally rhyming
thought. Shards And Stanzas: 48 by Forty Eight is a very
well written book in which ideas are at one and the same
time compressed and expanded. Most of these ideas are able
to be read very quickly but may turn out to take months,
maybe even years to understand, for these short thoughts
are so compact that a second reading will certainly offer
up more and different understandings. This book will take
a second reading so don't promise it to friends very
quickly.
