A man built for sex… A woman who wants more… Freedom fighter Shani Brown is determined to drag the
ungrateful Royce back to her team in Seattle. Despite his
denial of mistreatment, she wants to give him a chance at a
better life. Due to her horrific past as an unlicensed love-
bot, Shani never plans to have sex again. But Royce’s
makers punish him remotely with crippling pain. His only
escape is to orgasm. Never one to turn her back on a job,
Shani soon finds herself servicing him—and soon after,
caring for him. Love-bot Royce Harden wasn’t looking to be rescued,
especially not from the San Francisco BDSM club where he
was having a perfectly good time. But rescued he was—by a
hellcat bent on delivering him to her people. As Royce
starts to trust Shani, he begins to dream of freedom. But
freedom comes with a price. Royce must face his vanity, his
makers, and even the loss of his sexual upgrades if he’s
going to be the man Shani deserves.

Re: Studenstein
Royce sounds awefully human, I think we all have a duality to us. A perfectionist can be perfect yet suffer low self esteem, a compassionate person at work can be abusive at home, you can be a whore in the bedroom and a chef in the kitchen, and the idea that he is frightened to hope- how human and how often in life do we go through that. He sounds like a delightful character. Thank you for creating him. (Carla Carlson 4:10pm September 30, 2011)
You have a wonderful thought process, and I can't wait to read your book!! I must confess I've never heard of you until today, but then again, I've been living under a rock for a while!! lol Anyway, the story line sounds like a real page-turner, and I'm sure it's one that will keep me warm, now that it's getting cold here in the North. Thank you for the great posting today. I think the cover of the book is enough to get the warming started as well!! Enjoy your weekend!! (Peggy Roberson 5:16pm September 30, 2011)
Simplicity I can understand. You have complicated characters that are multi-dimensional. (Alyson Widen 6:27pm September 30, 2011)
Carla- I totally agree! In fact, I think it's the duality, and especially the exploration of that duality, that makes us most human. I love exploring the dark side of positive attributes—like the heroine with strong convictions who can sometimes border on judgmental, or a hero who'd so accommodating that he ends up alienating those he cares about. Glad you liked the idea and hope to see you around the boards!
Peggy— Glad to (virtually) meet you! I live in Seattle, so it's not that cold here quite yet. :) Hope Royce keeps you warm at night like he did for the months I wrote the story.
Alyson—Thanks for commenting. I think all good stories pair the simple with the complex. After all, people are often easy to read, but under the surface they're a mess of conflicting emotions.
Thanks all who read and commented on my first Fresh Fiction post!

oh my, what wonderful wicked fun.
Yes, I believe in my younger single days I certainly would have tried to find out where I can sign up for one of those. ;^) (Heidi Durham 8:37pm October 2, 2011)
