Thriller

Bright's Pond is all atwitter. Not only is it time for the annual Christmas Pageant but something strange is happening at the Greenbrier Nursing Home the residents are getting younger-looking, happier, and maybe even a little friskier. Clive Dickens (he's 86) finally tied the knot with 90-year-old Faith Graves. All eyes naturally turn to Agnes Sparrow but she denies any role in this apparent nursing home miracle. Griselda, who has joined the Full Moon Yuletide Committee for the first time, is busy with preparations but agrees to investigate after Agnes asks her. By the way, Griselda is still mulling over Zeb's marriage proposal. With the help of Bright's Pond Chief of Police, Mildred Blessing, Griselda follows the clues to the Paradise Trailer Park and the park's newest trailerite, Leon Fontaine. Turns out that Leon has been bottling the water from the newly revived Paradise Trailer Park fountain and selling it at Greenbrier as water from the Fountain of Youth. Some of it has even been sold in Bright's Pond. Mildred learns that Leon is wanted in six states on bunko charges and prepares to have him arrested, but he disappears. Agnes tells her to let him go and to keep giving the Greenbrier residents the water. It's not hurting them and they certainly seem happier. Griselda goes back to her pageant work and Zeb gives her an ultimatum marry him or it's all over. The pageant goes off with only a few issues including a missing baby Jesus, an unruly camel, and Joseph keeps arriving to practice three sheets to the wind (it's not his fault). After the play, Griselda agrees to marry Zeb and a wedding takes place on Christmas Eve in Bright's Pond the likes of which no one has ever seen, especially since the maid of honor, Agnes, might need to be fork-lifted down the aisle.
